He was an accomplished amateur golfer, enjoyed tennis, and traveled frequently in his later years. In Winston-Salem, Mr. Mellen was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry, and a member of Old Town Club where he served as president.

Demcoe, 75, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.He was born in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Matthew and Betty Demcoe. The family would like to thank the staff at Alleghany Health and Rehab for the kindness and care shown to Ronnie and his family. Ronnie was a member of the Salem YMCA, where he met many friends. Ronnie attended both Bethel Baptist Church in Salem, Virginia and Calvary Christian Church in Covington, Virginia. Ronnie was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and displayed that love through the kindness he showed to everyone. Ronnie was a kind soul who made friends wherever he went, and was always wanting to help others when he could.
Other than his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Waddell. He was an avid fisherman most of his life, and loved to share that enthusiasm with his niece. He loved reading old western novels, and collected them from several of his favorite authors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
